6 ways to TREAT yourself
Whether you have Valentine’s Day plans or not I encourage you to embrace this moment in time. May it be by are sharing love with a special someone or pouring into yourself. For my friends without a Valentine’s Day date here are my 6 ways you can treat yourself this season. Shoot, even if you have a date you can still pour into yourself with these suggestions. I trust it will aid in making you feel good, relaxed and rejuvenated. Enjoy!
1.Spoil yourself with a date out on the town.
Pick a time in the next couple of days where you will go to your favorite restaurant or possibly try a new spot. Treat yourself to a satisfying meal, order something sweet to eat and maybe even a classy drink to sip on. Don’t forget to dress up, put some makeup on and do something cute with your hair. During your date, enjoy your time with you!
2. Get up and get active.
Schedule a date to focus on the wealth of your body. Go on a walk/run or attend a workout class. There are options like cycling, hiking, zumba, trapfit, orange theory, and more. You can also spend some time stretching. Your brain, body and overall well-being will benefit from your endorphins flowing. When you treat your body well, it will treat you well even longer.
3. Take a nap.
Ohhh! At a certain age when you were younger naps were likely overrated to you. However, the older you get, naps become a sweet treat. You work hard at what you do all week, sometimes even through the weekend. Scheduling time to just rest your mind and body will recharge you for the days ahead.
4. Silence your surroundings to be inspired + to reflect + be free.
Find books or articles to read that will fill you, challenge you and encourage you. Then reflect on these things in your journal. Draw your attention to where you are in this moment - whether good or challenging. Focus on whatever is true, honest, pure and lovely. Continue on by jotting down your surroundings. What do you see, smell, feel, taste and hear? Write about whatever thoughts come to mind. Use this quiet time release anything you are carrying so you may recenter yourself.
5. Invest in you interests.
Plan a date that is fully dedicated to one of your hobbies or side hustles. As you plan for this time, consider what your goals are and how you will achieve them. Will you need to further educate yourself? Are there options to get certified? If so, find out if there are any courses available either in person or online. This investment is to sharpen your tools. Gift yourself time to research, read and study. You could always use YouTube to find testimonials from others within your field of interest. Learn from their wins and challenges then plan accordingly.
6. Pamper yourself!
It’s okay to splurge a bit on yourself. Just don’t break the bank (smiles). Go get your nails done. Schedule a massage. Color or try a new hair style. Take a long quiet bath. Treat yourself to a new purse, shoes or clothes - whatever enhances your personal style. Find something that is just for you.
Whatever you decide to do make the most out of your time. My mother use to often say “time waits for no man”. In this season, master the time you currently have by filling it with the things you care about - one being you!
